I was hired to shoot senior photos of Ethan Beman, a Malcolm High School senior because I had previously photographed his mom Jeri and step-father Brent's wedding and they have been very happy with my work. I always love the opportunity to work with repeat clients as it's fun to follow along on all of their life changes and developments.
Sometimes working with senior boys can be a little bit of a challenge because they are a little uncomfortable in front of the camera and aren't overly excited about the experience. Ethan was definitely an exception as he is very into art, design and photography and had some amazing ideas he wanted to incorporate. I don't believe I've ever had a senior guy with such a clear vision of what he wanted and it was so much fun to collaborate.
We started Ethan's session in the older part of the Haymarket in Lincoln. It's less crowded and has more character. This particular image in black and white is pretty simple, but so classic and ended up being a favorite of both Ethan and his family. I love his serious look. We spent quite a bit of time that day exploring the Haymarket and then ended the session with a more outdoorsy look taken at Pioneers Park.
